Getting Started
Now that you are a member, you can view and sign up for our volunteer opportunities, based on your birth date entered while signing up. We add to this list weekly, so be sure to check back regularly. To view sign up information make sure to check “Sign up” and an email will be sent with who to contact. MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW POST REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS TO FINISH SIGNING UP FOR THE OPPORTUNITY! Without doing so, you are not fully signed up.
Entering hours- Listed opportunities
To ensure you get credit for all service hours, we recommend entering them right after you complete your service. To add hours to an opportunity listed in our portal, under “my opportunities,” go to the opportunity and click “Log Time.” This will not be an option unless you have previously signed up for the opportunity.
Entering hours- Outside opportunities
We love that our members often take the initiative to find their own volunteer opportunities or work in a community they are a part of. Great news! You can keep track off all of your volunteer hours in one place!
To enter hours completed outside of listed opportunities, select the “Report hours” volunteer opportunity. Make sure you have previously signed up for the opportunity. Select “Log Time” and enter all information. Please enter the name of the organization, what you did and who it helped in the notes section.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PROVIDE AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE AS WE DO VERIFY HOURS!
Presidential Volunteer Service Award
Volunteer Collective is an official certifier of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. This award is automatically issued to any member who has entered enough hours to earn the award annually. Hours are calculated from October 1st through September 30th of every year. To count, hours must be entered by 11:59pm PST on September 30th of every year NO EXCEPTIONS. A physical certificate will be mailed to you in October, and the award will be added to your account and transcripts.
See the required hours in the chart to the right. The age groups are calculated by the student’s age on October 1st on the beginning of the award year. Ex: If a student turns 16 on December 1st, their PVSA for that year falls into the teen category, as they were 15 on October 1st.
Transcripts
You can request a more formal log of your verified service hours, should you need one for college applications or school credit. To request, please fill out this form. Please allow up to one week for processing.
