Meet: Richard Foos

Founding Member

Richard Foos has been in the entertainment business for over forty years, starting with a small record store named Rhino Records, and eventually growing it into the well-known audio label which was sold to Time Warner in 1998. In 2003, Foos and his partners started another company, Shout! Factory, LLC.

Shout! is a leading multi-platform media company devoted to film and TV distribution, development, and production, as well as the preservation and revitalization of the very best in pop-culture entertainment.

Foos strongly believes in merging one’s social values with business and has installed a strong sense of purpose and giving back in all his business concerns. He is Chairman Emeritus for Little Kids Rock and serves on the boards of The Volunteer Collective, The Narrative Method, LAANE, Pico Union Project, College Match, Type Media Center, Jewish Vocational Services, Hoover Intergenerational Child Care and other such non-profits that make a strong commitment to social progress.

He and his wife, Shari, live in Los Angeles.
