In partnership with Community Kitchen Kits, over 200 newly housed families now have a complete kitchen to call their own.
Community Kitchen Kits has committed to repurposing as many kitchen items & accessories as possible in an effort to build complete ‘Kitchen Kits’ for individuals and families who are making the transition to permanent housing.
In early Summer 2022, we kicked off a 2-part campaign where we collected and then organized hundreds of boxes & bags of donated kitchen items. After collecting these donations across Los Angeles, hundreds of volunteers like you came together over the course of 2 weekends to build over 200 fully stocked Kitchen Kits!

1600 sq. ft. The amount of space all the collected donations took up.

16 nonprofit partners who specialize in housing and supporting our neighbors.

We couldn’t have done it without the help of over 100 volunteers! They sorted through all the kitchen items, packed the boxes, and for the first time in a while — had a chance to get together and have a great time.
Besides pots, pans, dishes, and the like, we had plenty of crayons, stickers, and markers to decorate the boxes and write Welcome Home notes to go inside; creating a volunteer opportunity that was perfect for the whole family.
