Building a Culture of Service: September Updates from Volunteer Collective
As we welcome fall and settle into the new school year, we’re celebrating the growing spirit of volunteerism across Los Angeles. At Volunteer Collective, our mission has always been to make it simple for Angelenos to give back. This September, that mission is taking root in powerful new ways.
Students Leading the Way
Since launching in April, our Student Volunteer Program has already enrolled almost 1,000 students from 120 schools across the city. These middle and high school students are stepping up to support their communities, logging hours of service that not only strengthen local nonprofits but also nurture the next generation of civic leaders.
We’re especially proud to highlight our new partnership with the Inglewood Unified School District, where we’re building a pathway for youth to connect their education with hands-on service. This collaboration ensures that students can discover age-appropriate volunteer opportunities, earn recognition for their contributions, and experience firsthand the growth one can gain while giving back.
Nonprofits Thriving with Volunteer Support
Behind every successful volunteer story is a nonprofit partner doing critical work. This fall, Volunteer Collective continues to help local nonprofits with volunteer recruitment so they can focus on delivering quality programs and services. From food distribution and tutoring to community clean-ups and fire relief, we’re amplifying the impact of organizations serving our community.
Looking Ahead
September is a time of new beginnings, and we’re excited about what’s next. As more schools join our Student Volunteer Program and more community members sign up to serve, Volunteer Collective is helping build a city where volunteering isn’t just a choice — it’s a way of life.
If you’d like to get involved, whether as a student, parent, or nonprofit partner, we’d love to connect. Together, we can continue to weave service into the fabric of Los Angeles.
