Ensure families moving into permanent housing are able to make and serve their first meal at home.
Community Kitchen Kits has committed to repurposing as many kitchen items & accessories as possible in an effort to build complete ‘Kitchen Kits’ for individuals and families who are making the transition to permanent housing. Through donations from the community, they are able to provide all basic table and cookware to families who are transitioning into permanent housing. This way they have one less item to worry about and able to make and serve a meal on day one of moving in!
Their goal is threefold:
1. To offer assistance to those in our community facing challenging times.
2. To keep unused, yet useful items out of our landfill.
3. To connect with members of our greater community around a common goal.
Started in 2021, in their first year the delivered over 500 kits to families across Los Angeles and they’ve continued to grow since. Now partnering with 15+ agencies across he city, Community Kitchen Kits are providing the essentials to even more individuals and families and are always looking for both donations and volunteers.
